The Boracay Tropics Resort Hotel: Hitting the Right Sun-kissed Spot
By Romina Tobias

The island of Boracay never fails to be at the top of anyone's go-to summer destinations every year. Having the perfect stretch of unbroken white sand beaches and azure water is just a jewel in its crown. Swank resorts that offer the ultimate R and R experience can also undoubtedly do justice to a luxuriously memorable island getaway.

Receiving the coveted AAA rating and accreditation from the Department of Tourism, the Boracay Tropics Resort Hotel is a tropical oasis where Asian charm and plush Mediterranean architecture and interiors combine to radiate a world-class estate. Located at Station 2, the two three-storey building property is an unmistakable imprint of a paradisiacal sanctuary one wishes to know and keep in secret.

The hotel has 40 impeccably detailed superior deluxe rooms and 6 Cabana Suites. Guest rooms have suiting verandas to provide the perfect window for that cool tropical breeze and refreshing view of the huge bean-shaped pool surrounded by lush pocket gardens adorned with towering palm trees and sprawling yellow and white bells.

Beautiful art embellishes the entire resort. Renowned Filipino potter and ceramic artist, Ugu Bigyan, marks his genius with various handmade art pieces surrounding the hotel. He shares, "For the lobby I made two hand-woven tapestries with school of fishes in soft blue tone glazes. The fishes are attached in the tapestry with the continuing visual effect of fishes installed on the walls of the reception, with texture of pale matt ochre finish. Overlooking the swimming pool, we also created some big fish tiles (in multiple glazes) to accentuate the charcoal grey Italian tiles. We executed the fish installation by putting one, two or three in each corner so the bare eye can notice it even from the second floor of the resort buildings."

To nourish the palette, sumptuous cuisines and premium bar drinks are served at the TropiCafe Restaurant situated at the ground floor. It boasts of delectable Oriental and Western food choices to satisfy its guests.

For that much needed relaxation, a health and nail spa is also available to pamper and soothe those tired, worn-out bodies.

Offering an alternative to Boracay barhopping, Boracay Tropics Resort Hotel's KTV room can warm up its guests for a just as festive Boracay nightlife experience. Children on the other hand can enjoy a game room fully equipped with computers, board games, and other fun-filled entertainment.

For travelers mixing business with pleasure, there are seminar facilities designed for small or big events with rooms spacious enough for small groups to about 150 people. A modern business center, where WI-FI is available, provides the perfect office satellite.

This dreamy destination is the brainchild of Bert and Cely Sarabia who translated their love for the island into a booming business famed for its alluring casual elegance that harmonizes beautifully with the island. As very hands-on hotel owners, it was the couple's strong business acumen, effective working relationships with team members, strong spirituality, and fervent social commitment that made the hotel what is today. For Bert and Cely, "Boracay Tropics Resort Hotel is a work of love from the entire team." That being the main moving force instilled by the couple to the entire working staff running the hotel resort.

So when you do decide to step out of your seemingly ordinary world and into the timeless sanctuary of the Boracay Tropics Resort Hotel, be prepared to sink into the magnificence of nature, art, and charming hospitality.
