Willie on Annulment:
"Malungkot ako. Sana ay masaya na siya"

Last February 5, Tuesday, Judge Else de Guzman of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 89 declared Willie Revillame and Liz Almoro's marriage null and void based on the grounds of psychological incapacity under Article 36 of the Family code.

The two were wed in Lipa City, Batangas via a secret ceremony held in the residence of Governor Vilma Santos, who was the city mayor way back 2005. It was soon followed by a church wedding in Sanctuario de San Antonio in Makati. They had a son named Juan Emmanuel Almoro-Revillame or Juamee for short. Marital woes soon followed until Liz filed for nullity of their marriage.

Apart from the annulment, the court also granted Willie's petition to quash another case filed by Liz under the "Violence Against Women and Children act of 2004". We were able to secure a copy of the resolution which reads:

"Wherefore, premises considered, the assailed resolution is hereby REVERSED and set aside. The City Prosecutor of Quezon City is hereby directed to move for the withdrawal of the information filed against respondent Wilfredo B. Revillame for Violation of Section 5 of Republic Act No. 9262 in Criminal Case No. Q-07-147887, Regional Trial Court Branch 89, Quezon City and report the action taken thereon within ten (10) days from receipt hereof."

Accusations of Willie's infidelity or womanizing were not proven to be true as the resolution stated that "The Court failed to find any iota of evidence on record relating to the personal knowledge of the complainant (Liz Almoro) and her witness, Ma. Cecilia Laxa Pangilinan or Maricel for short, on the infidelity or womanizing issue, which allegedly constitute emotional abuse."

"With this reality, it is clear that the complainant and Maricel did not base their imputations on respondent's alleged women as a product of their personal knowledge. Rather, it was gathered from the mouth of other persons who do not appear to be competent and credible enough to sustain the accusation."

With the annulment granted, both parties will retain their single status again. According to our sources, Willie will still have visiting rights to his son Juamee. The court ordered him to give Php 150,000 as monthly support to the child.

We were able to exclusively talk to Willie about this development. He said he has mixed emotions about what happened and that he has no right to celebrate at all.

"Failure na naman ang marriage ko at gano’n naman talaga ang buhay. Marami pang mangyayari sa buhay ko at sa kanya rin. Siya ang nag-file niyan. Siya ang humingi niyan. At sana ay masaya na rin siya, kasi siya naman ang may gusto niyan. Ako siyempre sa akin may lungkot kasi wala na naman yung pamilyang na gusto kong mabuo. Mixed emotions pa ako. Hindi ko pa maintindihan. Malungkot kasi hindi naman talaga ganyan ang nangyayari sa buhay e." Willie sadly remarked.

We also got the chance to chat with Atty. Lacuanan, Willie's legal counsel, who happens to be a close friend of Willie and Liz, and he just pointed out something in reaction to the headlines that has been written for the past few days.
 
"Gusto ko pong i-correct yung impression na, laya na siya. Tama po yung sinabi ni Willie na hindi siya dapat magsaya dahil nakalaya na siya. Kasi hindi naman siya ang nagsampa ng kaso o ng petition. Kung meron'g dapat magsabi na nakalaya na, si Liz po yun dahil siya ang humingi. Ang panget naman po kasing sabihin na malaya na si Willie, malaya nang makipagrelasyon."
