The libel case filed by actors Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby against TV host columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis has recent developments. As of last Friday, April 11, 2008, Manila Prosecutor Sulla signed the resolution that the libel case has a probable cause and should be taken to the court.
This means that anytime this week, the papers and details of the case will be presented to the court, and the name of the presiding judge will be raffled off. A resolution for a warrant of arrest against the respondents Lolit Solis and Veronica Samio (of a local tabloid Pilipino Star Ngayon) will be submitted to the court and if granted, the two can file bail for ten thousands pesos each.
According to Fiscal Sulla, the respondents can file a motion for reconsideration at the court or the Department of Justice. If the court agrees with the findings of the prosecutor's office that there is indeed a probable cause, the hearing will continue and we'll soon hear a verdict. However, it could also go the other way around and the case could be dismissed.
In the most recent reports, as a reaction to the recent developments of the case, Piolo reiterated that what they're after is just the truth and nothing else. In an interview with Startalk, Manay Lolit mentioned that she has crossed paths with Johnny Manahan Star Magic top honcho and manager of Piolo and Sam.
The last time Manay Lolit responded to the affidavit of Piolo and Sam, she had apologized to the two infront of national television, but refused to retract what she wrote. The retraction of the article is what Piolo and Sam is requesting for them to drop the case.
