Fans and showbiz insiders are wondering why John Lloyd Cruz was not present during Willie Revillame's birthday special in  Wowowee last Saturday, January 26. Our secret insider told us that John Lloyd was personally requested by Willie to appear in the highly-anticipated event. Every time Willie won't make it to the noontime show, John Lloyd would take over. During the production number, it was just Bea Alonzo who appeared and sang with Willie.
The next day, John Lloyd was a no-show anew as ASAP '08 celebrated its nationwide Kapamilya show in four different areas of the country. John Lloyd was set to appear with the cast of Maging Sino Ka Man, but Jericho Rosales took his place and sang a number opposite Bea Alonzo.
Where's John Lloyd?
Buzz went around that John Lloyd was down with dengue. Yes, rumors started to spread that the actor wasn't feeling well, in fact was in real bad condition.
We immediately asked for clarifications from Star Magic, the group that manages John Lloyd, and we got an explanation from the PR officer Rikka Dylim through text message:
"(It was) Not dengue. He's better na. Ayaw na sana namin ipa-write up, (pero) it was pneumonia. Hindi dengue, buti na lang."
But even before this story came about, rumors about John Lloyd's alleged child from a call center agent buzzed around showbizlandia. According to write-ups, it has never been a secret to some of the actor's closest peers that he indeed has a child already from a girl who works for a call center. In addition, the rumors are stating that the girl was a long-time friend he used to hang out with before on night-outs and gimmicks.
Again, we asked for clarifications from Star Magic, and a straight-forward "Not true" is what we got. All of it were fabricated and is purely gossip.
Now, everyone is waiting for John Lloyd's recovery. Waiting for him to answer all the questions and controversies surrounding him.
And knowing John Lloyd, he's brave enough to face this. We're sure about that.
