Gretchen Barretto is at it again. Gretchen Barretto walked out of the studio of ABS-CBN's Saturday afternoon showbiz talk show Entertainment Live where she was slated to appear live to discuss the issue involving Nadia Montenegro. This developed after E-Live played the VTR that showed the incidents that led to the rumors.
REWIND

Prior to Gretchen Barretto’s live TV guest appearance on E-Live, she had a phone-patch interview with the GMA-7 talk show Startalk.
During the interview, Startalk host Joey De Leon insistedly asked about developments on the meeting Gretchen had with Nadia last Wednesday night. Only a selected few members of the media were permitted inside the Gretchen-Nadia rendezvous, which was in a hotel in Quezon City. Rumors floated that there was a hair-raising exchange of words and that glasses were even thrown at each other. But no confirmation has been told yet. Gretchen refused to answer Joey's question pertaining to Nadia, and replied:
"Alam mo ba ang policy ko sa buhay, pag-negative, ayoko nang marinig. You have to shield yourself from the things that are not good or negative. Kasi ako, ayoko na magsabi ng negative about anybody dahil pagdating ng panahon, mahirap yung lulunukin mo yung mga sinabi mo."
The Startalk interview ended when Gretchen gave a wordy message to Nadia:
"You know, masyado na kaming matatanda para mag-away. Ako, sa dami-dami ng blessing na binibigay ng Panginoon, I will always find a place in my heart to forgive and to understand Nadia. Ayoko magsabi ngnegative tungkol sa kanya dahil ayokong lunukin yun bukas or next week. Gusto kong magbagong-buhay, gusto kong mahalin siya at patawarin siya. In time, that will all happen."
THE WALK-OUT INCIDENT
Back to ABS-CBN, E-Live showed the VTR with a recap of what happened the whole week -- from Gretchen's first live interview in “The Buzz,” to Jinggoy's birthday party where Gretchen and Tony Boy Cojuangco attended, to Nadia's detailed and lengthy text message which said a lot of not-so-nice things about Gretchen, up to the most the recent developments. Everything was captured in the VTR.
While the VTR was being played, Gretchen, who was already on stage, obviously got upset with the re-airing of Nadia’s comments as she kept on covering her ears and stomping her feet. Then, Gretchen stood up and stepped out of the studio.
Everyone in the studio was shocked when Gretchen walked out of the studio with her eyebrows raised to launch a missile. "The Buzz" captured every moment of Gretchen's controversial walk-out and even got a striking comment addressed to E-Live: "Binastos nila ako. Wala silang breeding! Puwede silang bumili sa Shoemart!!!"
Gretchen Barretto was furious.
With regards to Nadia, we received an official statement through text message. This is Nadia's official and final statement, issued February 24, 2008:
"Marami na pong kuwento ang lumabas. Marami na ring tao ang nasaktan. Kung ano man po ang nasabi ko nung araw na yun, yun po ang naging opinyon ko dala ng galit. Kaya sa mga nasaktan, pasensya na po. Maiinam na rin sigurong manahimik para hindi na lumaki o lumala pa ang mga usapin. Maraming Salamat - Nadia Montenegro."
In most recent developments, the Entertainment Live management and staff sent apologies to Gretchen; the actress whole-heartedly accepted the apology. She promised to guest again in the show but it will take time before she does.
Just like the title of her latest music record, things are truly UNEXPECTED when you talk about Gretchen Barretto. |
