Living in the city has its own perks and drawbacks. It means having easy access to malls, business districts and just where most of the action is. However, city living comes with the scenario we are all too familiar with - the rush hour traffic, heavy pollution, congested residential spaces and add those up to having a high-stress level job; I’m sure the concept of going home to a rustic world with fresh air, breathing spaces and greenery is starting to be extremely inviting. Living in the city can really be too much sometimes but if you ask me, I really can’t trade it just for those. It would be nice to find something in between though.
I’m still a long way from moving out to be on my own but I’m starting to look at my options. With the salary of a struggling yuppie, I am almost certain that my very first space would have to be a rental with every furnishing borrowed from someone if I insist on what I want. So imagine my surprise when I met real estate agent Jun Fausto who proved my theory wrong by showing me around El Pueblo Condormitel in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Developed in 2000 by Phoenix Sun International and the National Housing Authority (NHA), El Pueblo Condormitel is a medium-rise condominium, dormitory and hotel in one, with a Mexican architectural style. It is based on three major philosophies which are respect for nature, lifestyle integration and understanding of human needs for a quality life. These philosophies are evident all over the condormitel. Residents are made to segregate their waste, there’s an abundance of amenities such as a water-refilling station, a daycare center, swimming pool, badminton court and even a social hall that looks like an open-air hotel’s lobby. Medicinal plants, herbs and fruit-bearing trees are also found throughout the vicinity for the residents’ use. Inside the compound, you can really forget that you are still within the city. Just five kilometers’ away from the busy malls of TriNoma and SM North Edsa, the air is already a bit cooler and the surroundings simply peaceful.
El Pueblo Condormitel also promotes LIKAS or Lifestyle Integration of Well Kept Affordable Shelters that’s why it can be easily availed through the PAG-IBIG loan and each unit comes fully furnished with a TV down to the eating utensils. Jun Fausto explains, “El Pueblo Condormitel’s structural features and interior design are special because it will help hone good living habits of the residents. Also, by furnishing everything, the resident will automatically live in a very organized manner. More than a home, El Pueblo Condormitel actually uplifts the standards of living of the urban work force.”
