We all want to capture memories. If only like little keepsakes, we could tuck them safely in a box, to touch and feel them once in a while and be transported back to those moments in time that we wish never ended. Perhaps the closest thing to this pseudo time machine would be video journals or home movies that would serve as the perfect audio-visual time capsule to preserve those beautiful memories.

Making this possible would be the Do It Yourself AVP Creative Studio at West Avenue, Quezon City which opened just this April. I’m sure you’re thinking… Me? Doing AVPs? But I’m no editor?
The studio’s president, Laura Guevarra shares how this concept was born: “I wanted to do away with the “bahala ka na” mentality we Filipinos usually have when employing editing services. It is my goal to allow the customers become more involved in the project since it’s theirs to begin with. Most of the time, these AVPs deal with real, personal stories and by being hands-on, the finished products will have more meaning for them.”
The DIY AVP Studio is a cross between a web café and an editing bay. It’s a comfortable environment that comes complete with a studio booth for voice, sound, and music recording, a video studio with green screen for headshots, plus all the software and equipment you will need for your presentations.

Laura also offers training in Photo Montage, a 15-hour course for multimedia programs. “This is my way of sharing my knowledge in technology. I consider myself as being on the techie side and by doing this, I’m enabling others, empowering them to embrace media and produce relevant projects out of it.”
So whether you’re required to do product presentations for work, creative reports for school, or family tributes and souvenirs, don’t fret. The DIY AVP Studio is more than willing to assist you, plus you learn a thing or two about multimedia arts. That’s a great deal, don’t you think?
