My Favorite Things: Travel to Ilocos Norte

Mary Francee Fernandez, 23, Editorial Assistant
I'm outgoing, friendly and definitely easy to get along with.  My friends say that I talk a lot but they love me for that, anyway. I find Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese TV dramas on television entertaining and inspiring.  I like pop music, from J-pop to local Pinoy.

Favorite Travel Spot
San Agustin Church, Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines

I like Ilocos Norte. Last year, my friends and I visited Malacañang of the North and the famous Fort Ilocandia. We even went to Paoay Lake overlooking the Malacañang of the North. We visited the memorial display of former president Ferdinand Marcos in the museum at their old residence. The old Batac church made me appreciate the beauty of Spanish structures while the white sands and corals of the beaches in Pagudpod made me admire the beauty of nature.

Favorite Food

On weekends, my friends and I usually go to Dampa sa Libis, a great place to go to if you are looking for seafood menu at an affordable price. Dampa sa Libis is what people call “paluto” restaurant. Buy favorite seafood or meat from the Dampa wet market and  your chosen food kiosk will cook them they way you want.

If budget and time permits, I would want to go to Palawan and witness its beauty - the caves and beach resorts as well as the endangered animals.
