M CAFÉ: CUISINE + CULTURAL PHILIPPINES

The Museum Café

People have been talking about this café, one of the most popular in the Philippines. The  atmosphere is relaxing; the interior is quite impressive and the food artistically tempting. Amidst the Zen interiors, great cuisine and larger-than-life art pieces jive together.

The Museum Café, located on the ground floor of the Ayala Museum's Glass Wing, lets you dive into a dining experience different from any other restaurant in the Philippines.

M Café, as it is informally known, showcases the Filipino ingenuity in its interior design, hosting the works of  world-renowned Filipino artists such as Budji Layug, Royal Pineda, Tess Pasola, Impy Pilapil, Kenneth Cobonpue and Jaime Zobel de Ayala, in effect creating an artistic haven in  a cafe in the heart of Metro Manila.

Its interiors exude that unique Filipino aura –from the restaurant’s hanging fiber glass balls made by Kenneth Cobonpue to the Azucena stalks in the artistic paper vases of Tess Pasola, all forming together to create exquisite centerpieces on each restaurant table.

The café and cultural elements from the Philippines offer a mixture of casual fine dining and delectable cuisine. Tuna Carpaccio, tuna slices topped with bird’s eye chili and sprinkled with aligue and Thai basil, gives the perfect blend of spices and seasoning, making it one flavorful appetizer. The Poached Hainan Ginger Spring Chicken offers the flavors of Asian spices without overpowering the delicate taste of chicken. Its ginger oil and Hainan-style marinade blend well together with the garlic rice and chicken broth.

Other favorites are desserts such as the Three Chocolate Crème Brulees, dark chocolate with ginger, white chocolate with Thai basil, and dark chocolate with chili pepper.

The Museum Café opens daily at 6:30 AM. Patio tables are available for seasonal dining al fresco, with a full bar that offers an array of the finest coffees, teas, signature cocktails, and an extensive list of wines.
