Healthy eating is an adventure. It’s an exploration of flavors and portions worthy of your calories and your money nevertheless. But once you find that perfect medley of fresh ingredients, exquisite taste, pleasing-to-the-eye presentation, and affordability, you just might have hit the gourmand’s jackpot. To help you get the winning edge on this endless game of dine and seek, culinary assistance can be right at your doorstep and you may not have to look any further for that next satisfying meal.
Delicioso Philippines was established to revolutionize Philippine dining by creating healthy alternatives to fast food or your so-called “usual.” Established in June of 2005, it promises to provide restaurant quality food at competitive prices to be enjoyed at the comforts of your home or office.
Chef Jill Ignacio-Busuego is the founder of Delicioso. Holding a degree in Hotel Restaurant Administration from UP and having taken further culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Chef Jill started catering in 1991. She was also a chef instructor in two culinary schools in Manila but seeing a number of graduates having difficulty getting work, Chef Jill decided to establish Delicioso as an alternative food servicing company. Everything started in her very own kitchen, with a humble menu of pasta, salad and two rice toppings. And several deliveries and catering events later, more delectable dishes were concocted as Delicioso’s number of food services increased.
As an advocate for healthy eating, Chef Jill decided to incorporate the South Beach Diet to her menu. “I personally tried the South Beach Diet to see if it was sustainable as a diet and realized that since it came in three phases, it was indeed a manageable way of eating,” she states. The South Beach Diet employs a 14-day program with packaged meal plans. All meals are prepared then delivered to homes and offices.
Though Delicioso’s menus aren’t all South Beach meals, the majority are.
