Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. While preparation for some means studying or working, for others it involves being equipped with certain opportunity-attracting objects. Lucky charms for instance, have immensely grown in popularity during the recent years. Carried usually by Feng Shui shops, these stones, crystals, and charms carry a strong, positive symbolic message for its clients. They resemble tangible forms of the words, “Good luck!” or “Have prosperous year” which everyone hopes to have.
Sisters Sheila and Leylanie Go, graduates of De La Salle University, met Joy Lim (a popular Feng Shui consultant to celebrities) a few years back and were introduced to this Chinese art particularly to charms and crystals. Sheila says, “I wear her bracelets and people come up to me and ask where I got them. It then gave me the idea of helping Joy Lim reach other people. We’ve been distributors of her charms and crystals ever since.”
As to the effectiveness of such lucky charms Sheila confesses, “It works. I've had a few wishes (which I'll keep to myself) come true. I didn't believe in it one hundred percent in the beginning, but it really works! One thing I've noticed is that after I pray over it every time, it's warm to my touch.” Joy Lim’s charms are prayed over bead by bead, and energized after being made into a bracelet or necklace. They use oil and pray over it again, eliminating the bad vibes that may have attached to the beads during shipping and what not.
