Say Shirt is a statement tee conceptualized by young entrepreneur Mars Chua. But unlike other statement shirts and its insp iration, the House of Holland shirts in England, Say Shirts is personalized since customers can provide their own statement; choose the color and size of the shirt, as well as the color of the text.
Launched just December 1, 2007, Say Shirts, says Mars, has already been getting good reception from mostly college students and yuppies.
The shirt’s price ranges from P650 to P900. Customers can choose from ten different shirt colors, including metallic shades, and sizes from extra small to double extra large. Aside from the regular tee cut, sleeveless and dress shirts are also available.
Mars does not have restrictions in the statement that will be printed on the shirt as long as it fits the 11x15 print area and is not vulgar and offensive. She believes that as a businesswoman, she has the duty to advocate people to wear shirts responsibly.
The idea of making Say Shirts as a business started when her boyfriend’s sister Diane Medina joined You Can Dance, a celebrity dance competition in ABS-CBN last July. To show her support, she thought of creating statement shirts which she and her friends would wear during the show. When Mars and their other friends watched the show in the studio, they wore the same statement tees which said “Diane, You Can Dance.” Mars received good comments from the people who saw the shirts on television, and that provided Mars the inspiration to make a business out of t-shirts.
Customers can order Mars’ statement shirts through 88DB.com. Payment can be ma de through the bank. After three days, the shirt will be delivered or customers can pick them up at their office.
