Sunday to most Filipinos is a Family Day. It’s when families, sometimes including the lolos and lolas get together…attend mass, eat out or stroll in a nearby mall. That’s why, in the spirit of fun and family togetherness, World of Fun’s Family Fun Fest held last November 23 in Sta. Lucia Mall became a definite success.
The Family Fun Fest showed that World of Fun (WOF) is not just for kids but for everybody who simply wants to take a break and enjoy. Young movers displayed their talents in Pump It Up Dance Competition. Nine pairs from different regions danced on stage and competed using the crazy mode dance revolution. Out of the nine finalist-pairs, three pairs were chosen and danced to the nightmare mode. In the end, only one pair emerged as winners – two teenage boys from the NCR region, wearing school girl uniforms with matching hair wigs much like Japanese Anime characters. Meanwhile, the representatives from Gen. Santos City were given the “Crowd Favorite” award.
Pump It Up was one of the event highlights together with the Grand Finals of Basketball Shootout Challenge, Drawing and Coloring Contest and Family Fun Challenge. Other games played by some audience participants were the WOF It Up Tongue Twister and Longest Breathe challenges.
Adding more fun and spice to the festival is 88DB.com, which provided free services such as henna tattoo, face painting and glitter art by Fun Fun Party, and photo booth by Fotoloco. Interesting to note is the old couple, 75-year old Juan Taller and 70-year old Emma Taller who posed at the photo booth. Lolo Juan said with a laugh, “Masaya pa kami eh, kahit matanda na.”
WOF’s Family Fun Fest is truly a whole family affair.
